SpidoSpeed Series From Linde Werdelin Celebrates Diamonds

Luxury watchmakers Linde Werdelin have unveiled a stunning new variation of their classic SpidoSpeed chronograph. The SpidoSpeed Black Diamond features 48 brilliant-cut 1.57 carat black diamonds and a mother-of-pearl dial.

Only 50 pieces of this limited-edition will be produced, wherein diamonds don’t just feature in the aesthetics; the skeletonised case, including everything from the crown to the pushbuttons have been treated with a black diamond-like-carbon (DLC) coating. This unique coating increases scratch-resistance, ensuring that the stunning timepiece retain its matte finish. Company founder Jorn Werdelin said in a press release; “Diamonds are the hardest natural materials existing and are the perfect fit on a dlc sports watch, like the SpidoSpeed.”

The SpidoSpeed Black Diamond technical specifications include a 44 mm-diameter case with a 237-piece LW03 Concepto integrated chronograph movement, which can be glimpsed through the sapphire crystal case-back. The watch has a 48-hour power reserve. The case itself is unique in that it comprises a 32-part three dimensional skeleton. The strap features textured calf-skin and an ardillon buckle. The watch is water-proof up to 100 meters.

The watch will retail for $25,000 swiss francs (approximately $27,500 US). For locations, visit the Linde Werdelin website.
