Clock manufacturer and high-end Swiss watchmaker Jaeger-LeCoultre, in their partnership with the UNESCO World Heritage Centre, got the winning bid of $14,606 at the fourth yearly online auction of the Deep Sea Vintage Chronograph held March 15, 2012.

The profits from the auction have been dedicated to care for a marine site in the Philippines that is a part of the UNESCO World Heritage Marine Program. The Puerto-Princesa Subterranean River National Park is an exclusive marine park that has been in need of immediate help and is an important habitat for biodiversity protection and contains a full “mountain-to-the-sea” ecosystem.
The monies from the auction will assist in obtaining the equipment and materials that will help the site with a regular monitoring program toward evaluating the state of conservation of its extraordinary marine value. Jaeger-LeCoultre has to contributed to similar projects with help from these auctions, such as: The protection of Tubbataha Reefs Natural Park in the Philippines, India’s Sundarbans National Park and Malpelo Fauna and Flora Sanctuary in Colombia.
