Following the expansion of their Luminor collection in 2015, Officine Panerai presents their new Radiomir 1940 Collection this year with 4 new models that provide not only a larger selection of dial designs, but also a wider choice of technical features: the Radiomir 1940 3 Days GMT Automatic (PAM00627 and PAM00657) with the P.4001 movement and the Radiomir 1940 3 Days GMT Power Reserve Automatic (PAM00628 and PAM00658) with the P.4002 movement:

Two new automatic calibres developed from the P.4000 movement: the P.4001 and P.4002, have added new functions with date, GMT and power reserve indicator. Only this last function differentiates the P.4001 calibre from the P.4002: while the first has the circular indicator on a bridge of the movement, the second has the indicator positioned directly on the dial at 5 o’clock.

Two further features make setting the watch extremely simply and precise: the first is the mechanism which stops the balance and zeroes the seconds hand as soon as the winding crown is pulled out; the second enables the local time hand to be adjusted forward and backward in jumps of one hour at a time, without stopping the minute hand or interfering with the running of the watch, but automatically adjusting the date. Launch March 2016, 1,000 pieces each, €11,400.

The brand also presents the new Luminor 8 Days Set composed of 2 watches inspired by models created prior to brand’s acquisition by the Richemont Group in 1997: the Luminor Black Seal (originally created for Sylvester Stallone) with, for the first time, a left-handed version, and a rare Luminor Daylight with a rare white dial and blue markers and numerals.

The two watches are presented in a box inspired by those used for vintage Luminor watches, made of pear wood with a teak base and containing a model of the human torpedo (Siluro a Lenta Corsa – slow speed torpedo), together with a rare publication about the military equipment of the special forces of the Royal Italian Navy, in which Panerai watches and instruments appear. 500 pieces with 2 models each. Launch May 2016, €19,900.

Last but not least, the Scienziato Luminor 1950 Tourbillon GMT Titanio 47mm from the “Lo Scienziato” collection dedicated to Galileo Galilei is now enhanced by a special new edition. The P.2005 mechanical caliber with tourbillon regulator is skeletonized and for the first time, made of titanium. Features include hours, minutes, small seconds, GMT with am/pm indication, a power reserve of six days with indicator on the back, and a tourbillon escapement.

The ultimate lightness of the watch is both the result of the fine skeletonising of the bridges, plates and spring barrels, and of the absence of a traditional dial, since all the elements which normally comprise it are attached directly to the movement or the flange of the watch.

150 pieces. €139,000.
