HL’s Philippe Starck + Sam Nazarian Cover Launch Dinner by Hublot
Haute Living and Hublot came together once again to host their Art Basel cover release dinner featuring SLS Brickell visionaries, Sam Nazarian and Philippe Starck. Starck flew in just for the occasion along with wife, Jasmine Abdellatif Starck.
The festivities kicked off with a champagne reception at the Delano, a poignant venue as it was recently acquired by Nazarian’s sbe and is one of Starck’s most ground-breaking and beloved design projects in the mid 90s. VIPs like model and Mrs. Nazarian, Emina Cunmulaj; Alicia and Mike Piazza; gracious after party hosts Lisa and Lenny Hochstein, Haute Living CEO, Kamal Hotchandani; Hublot CEO, Ricardo Guadalupe; pop artist, Mr. Brainwash; and Miami celebrity chef, Michael Schwartz, who created an incredible menu from his new restaurant at SLS Brickell Fi’lia.
Guests enjoyed nibbles from and bubbly and even a surprise appearance from Dave Chappelle, who was dining on the restaurants patio with a group of friends. It seems he had to come by to say ‘hello’ to none other than Lisa Hochstein, who he remembered had heckled him at his last Miami performance, creating one of those “only during Art Basel” moments. Once cocktail hour wrapped, guests headed to a beautifully-outfitted Hublot-branded table with Nazarian and Starck taking their seats as guests of honor.
Each dish was expertly paired with different vintage wines from Sinegal Estate Winery, a revered Napa Vally wine. These included Sinegal Sauvignon Blanc 2014, Sinegal Cabernet Sauvignon Estate 2014 and Sinegal Cabernet Sauvignon Reserve 2014. In attendance were the vintners themselves David and Shelley Sinegal, who presented Nazarian, Starck and Guadalupe with special reserve bottles of Sinegal Estate. As diners became more enthused, Sam gave a heartfelt toast reminding guests just how important it is to savor moments like this one. Nazarian, for his part, is having a very big year and having many moments to savor. Read all about them here on Haute Living’s Art Basel issue cover story.
