The iconic Swiss watch brand Girard-Perregaux recently announced the unveiling of the print and online journal: The New Face of Tradition, Eight Young Watchmakers and the Art of Making Time. The journal follows these young watchmakers from Girard-Perregaux  Manufacture, based in La Chaux-de-Fonds, in their own workshops and in their personal time with friends and family. From rock & rollers to puzzle masters, the young watchmakers are as unique and diverse as the Girard-Perregaux luxury timepieces they create.

In celebration of the journal, The Girard-Perregaux Young Watchmakers Tour  launched at Cipriani Dolci in New York City on May 1st. The Cipriani Grand Central location was transformed into a Swiss atelier where guests, including Haute Time Curator Seth Semilof , were able to participate in an in-depth one-on-one workshop with four young watchmakers. They demonstrated the intricacies of the movements and included hands-on lessons. In addition, Girard-Perregaux showcased the latest 2012 novelties and Museum pieces from its historical archives.

While in New York City, the young watchmakers were photographed throughout the Big Apple, bringing watchmaking to locations including the Brooklyn Bridge, Times Square and Wall Street. Later this year the international tour will visit Beijing, Paris and several other international cities.
